After a decade dedicated to his cause, Many Miles for Mary, Jamie starts a new journey, one of personal discovery. Jamie has selected ten of the toughest ultramarathons on Earth; each known for a particular level of discomfort which must be conquered by those who toe the starting line and hold aspirations to cross the finish line.
In the first film of the series Jamie tackles the HURT100 in Oahu, Hawaii. Unofficially recognised as the toughest trail ultra on the planet it pushes Jamie to explore his own beliefs surrounding one of his favourite sayings ‘Get comfortable being uncomfortable’.

I’ve been coaching CrossFit for over 4 years and started at JMT coaching the strength and conditioning classes in 2018.
I’m passionate about training and it’s benefits for mental health and well-being. I love to coach everyday people and to see their absolute amazement and excitement when they do a movement or lift a weight they never even imagined they could. As a coach it is so rewarding to see people start to believe in themselves more and more each time they train. For me the best part about coaching is connecting with everyone, learning about each person and how they like to train. I am extremely grateful to be a part of such an awesome community at JMT.

Jamie’s infectious enthusiasm for fitness and human development started with a 7-year stretch with the Royal New Zealand Navy
This lit a fire within him and inspired Jamie to excel, instilling that not everyone will be the best, but everyone can be their best.
Jamie has over 14 years’ experience as an International Strength and Conditioning Coach working for a number of world ranked professional athletes, Kuwait’s Royal Family, sports teams, and the members of his Sunshine Coast based training facility.
A seasoned competitive athlete, with

What our members say

I have been training with Jamie Milne for almost 12 months now, and in this time I have achieved more than I ever could have imagined. When I started with Jamie I was very slack when it came to regular exercise, walking the dog was about as good as it came. I knew I needed to make a change, when a friend suggested Jamie to me. From the beginning I knew Jamie was different to any other trainer I had worked with before. You could see in his face he honestly cared for what your goals were and was really excited to help you achieve those goals.
Working with Jamie I not only achieved my initial goal of weight loss, losing 14kg, but I also achieved bigger and better goals. Some of which Included completing a half marathon and competing in a crossfit competition (which I never would have considered without Jamie). Seeing the look on his face when you achieve something is like a kid opening their presents on Christmas morning; he is genuinely happy and excited for you. He is very passionate about his work and is extremely supportive and motivating. He makes the training fun and enjoyable, how I’m not exactly sure, and has great variety with everything you do. He is very flexible and willing to work around your personal schedule, and not only gives you training advice but also helps with your nutritional habits as well. I know for a fact I wouldn’t be the fit, healthy and happy person I am now if it wasn’t for Jamie. So much so that has even somehow talked me into partaking in a full marathon this year. Thank you for everything Jamie.

I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. Indulging in a love affair with food and having a firm reluctance to exercise, I had low self-esteem and was very unhappy. I had tried just about everything you can think of to lose weight, and was ready to give up and just accept that I was a “big girl”.
Fortunately, I crossed paths with Jamie Milne at the beginning of last year. Jamie is a vibrant, passionate and experienced professional in the fitness industry. He genuinely takes the time to get to know you so that you can get to your set goal. When he took me on as a client he promised me that I would get to where I wanted if I worked with him following a set training regime and adapted healthy nutritional habits. Initially, I was sceptical, but only training once a week and following his nutritional advice, I was amazed at how quickly I started to see results. I believe that I have been so successful thus far in my fitness journey because of the very holistic approach that Jamie applies. He has provided me with a fun and varied training program to suit my needs, a wealth of nutritional advice, support, encouragement and many laughs. Under his guidance I have since completed a half marathon and lost 20 kilos and I’ve had an absolute ball doing it! Jamie has got it down to a fine art of pushing you to your limit but not breaking you, I can’t recommend him highly enough. A year later, I have regained my self-esteem, I feel confident and am happier than I have ever been, he has changed my life for the better and I am forever grateful.

So in the last two years Jamie has Coached me online on a weekly basis and I have achieved 2 trail ultra marathons, several half marathons, and I have achieved a 3rd place in the nz CrossFit masters for my division, and am now placed in the Auckland masters athletics champs the day after a 60k trail warmup. Guess you could say my training conditions me pretty well. I can also deadlift 150k snatch 75k clean and jerk 95k and shoulder press 80k. But I think my greatest achievement in the last twelve months is that even though I am surrounded by sick people constantly I have not even had a symptom in the last year. My health has been exceptional. Not only is my recovery for training sensational but my immune system seems to possess super powers and I am putting that down to my training regime and healthy lifestyle.

I met James about 8 years ago & employed him to be my Personal Trainer. At the age of 42, I had never used a gym, had a trainer, or even bothered about having any level of fitness. As long as I could get around on two legs, and lift my arm to raise a wine glass I was happy.
However, after doing the hard work by myself of shedding 20 kilos, I wanted to be different to others and keep the weight off. So I was lucky enough to find James and that’s when my life changed. James re-programmed my brain to love anything fitness. He taught me to enjoy running, skipping, push-ups, pull-ups, burpees… the list goes on. James was able to give me the tools to be motivated about exercising regularly, and to enjoy what I was doing. I believe this to be one of James’s real strengths as a Personal Trainer. He is able to install fire in your belly; and more importantly to keep it there.
Eight years on and we are still training together. I am the perennial bridesmaid in nearly all workouts (except tennis & squash.) I am still enjoying the training because he makes it interesting, and always ‘mixes it up,’ & most importantly I see the results. 12 months ago we embarked on some weight training and in 2014 I was able to bench press my bodyweight for the first time ever.
James has taught me about nutrition as well. James is not a personal trainer who comes & barks a few orders & takes your money. He is a people’s person who genuinely cares for you as a person & an athlete. He will follow up with you after sessions and keep in touch regarding any injuries & diet. His understanding & compassion as a Personal Trainer is unsurpassed.
Finally, I cannot tell you of another person that has so much knowledge on the fitness industry. He has educated himself through many courses and books. He has used his own body as a guinea pig to test diets and forms of training. What he doesn’t know about fitness is not worth knowing.
If you are thinking of improving your fitness, need to shed a bit of weight, or just want to feel better about yourself; then go no further than this man. It sounds corny I know but he is a ‘life changer’ and I am so thankful for having him in my life.

I have had the good fortune of training with Jamie many years ago in 2011 and currently again now that he has moved back to the Sunshine Coast. Through his coaching and knowledge that I gained from him back then, I have dropped over 12kgs, regained fitness and am stronger, faster and fitter than I have been in my life.
Now in 2015 and in my 40s, we are working on a whole new set of goals that I didn’t think imaginable back then, but with his help, I know we’ll give them a damn good shot at become reality.
Does he challenge me to be a better version of myself? Yes, every time we train. Does he hold me accountable to be goals? Definitely.
Do I feel inspired at the possibilities of what I can achieve? Without a doubt.
Don’t hesitate and procrastinate about what you want to achieve….
We only live once? Wrong! We only die once.
Get someone on your team who is going to help you live the life you want.
Jamie walks, talks, eats and breathes what he does. No regrets, just do it.

Students at Palmwoods State School have participated in Jamie Milne’s Training Program over the last 10 weeks. All students have increased their speed, distance and are learned how to run injury free. They have enjoyed every session with varied structures and have gained knowledge about running from one of the best in the industry.
It hasn’t just been their physical performance that has improved, but also their confidence, positive attitude and team spirit. Students’ organisation skills, time management skills, independence and resiliency skills also improved due to the early morning before-school sessions.
This is an outstanding program that delivers results. More than 90% of students had not run more than 1.5km until this term, and 10 weeks later, they all completed a 10km event.
Thank you, Jamie Milne, for your guidance, support and training and we look forward to working with JMT in 2017.

Jamie provided introductory workshops to our students over a six week rotation as part of our REDE program (Respect Excellence Diversity Enjoyment). His high level of enthusiasm was inspiring! Each student was encouraged and supported to have a go in a fun and friendly environment.
The workshops were an effective way to help boost students’ self-esteem and allow them to challenge themselves by trying something different. Jamie made the classes interactive and hands-on so each student with varying abilities could enjoy and engage with new skills. A huge thank you to Jamie and his team for their excellent involvement with our senior students. – Courtney Michael, Teacher and Year 12 Coordinator.
